Boy vs Girl, Cavalier vs Cavapoo?
Choosing a puppy is an exciting moment, but it often comes with big questions. Should you choose a boy puppy or a girl puppy? Is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel a better fit for your family, or would a Cavapoo suit your lifestyle more?
At Blessed Little Pups, We understand how important this choice is, and we believe confidence comes from honest answers, thoughtful guidance, and realistic expectations.
Let’s break it all down and help you feel confident about finding the puppy that truly fits your home.
Boy Puppy or Girl Puppy: Does It Really Matter?
One of the most common misconceptions in the puppy world is that gender determines personality or ease of training. In our experience, this simply is not true.
Each puppy develops its own temperament based on genetics, early handling, environment, and individual personality. Gender does not decide whether a puppy will be calm, playful, outgoing, or laid back.
We have raised plenty of boy puppies who are gentle, relaxed, and content to cuddle, and just as many girl puppies who are equally calm and easygoing. Likewise, both boys and girls can be playful, curious, and full of personality.
The key is not choosing a gender, but choosing the right puppy.

Cavalier or Cavapoo: Understanding the Difference
Both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Cavapoos are beloved for their affectionate nature and adaptability, making them wonderful companions for families, couples, and individuals alike.
The biggest difference most families notice first is the coat. Cavaliers do shed, while Cavapoos are considered low-shedding. For families with allergies or a strong preference for minimal shedding, this is often a deciding factor.
Personality-wise, both breeds are known for their loving and people-oriented nature. Cavapoos can be slightly more vocal and may alert you when someone arrives or when something changes in their environment. Cavaliers tend to be quieter and extremely gentle, though both breeds mellow beautifully as they mature.
Size Expectations as Adults
Size is another important consideration, especially for families living in smaller spaces or those who prefer a more compact companion.
Our Cavaliers typically reach an adult weight of about 15–18 pounds. Our Cavapoos generally mature between 12–16 pounds. Both breeds are well-suited for a variety of living situations and adapt easily to their owners’ lifestyles.
Welcoming A Blessed Little Pup Into Your Life
There is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to choosing the perfect puppy. Gender does not define temperament, and both Cavaliers and Cavapoos make exceptional companions when matched thoughtfully with the right family.
