Meet Sweet Little Blossom

Introducing Blossom, a beautiful Red Cavapoo girl with adorable white markings from Tulip and Yogi Bear!

Blossom is spending her earliest days growing up with us at Blessed Little Pups in Goshen, Indiana. Her pretty red coat and contrasting touches of white already make her easy to pick out, but we're even more excited to discover all the things that will eventually make Blossom unique beyond her appearance.

Right now, she's still at an age where life is wonderfully uncomplicated. Mom, littermates, warm places to sleep, and plenty of nourishment make up most of her world.

That little world won't stay small for long. Each passing week will bring new milestones, and we'll get a front-row seat as Blossom begins discovering everything around her.

Letting Her World Unfold Naturally

We believe puppyhood should be filled with opportunities to learn without rushing through the experience.

As Blossom becomes developmentally ready, we'll gradually introduce her to new sights, everyday sounds, different surfaces, toys, people, handling, and household routines.

These early experiences don't need to be complicated to be valuable. Walking across a different texture, investigating an unfamiliar toy, hearing a new sound, or spending one-on-one time being gently handled can all become part of her early development.

Blossom will also spend plenty of time interacting with her littermates, giving her built-in companions for playing and learning.

Our approach is to balance early socialization and positive experiences with plenty of rest, play, and normal puppy life.

Beginning Blossom's Puppy Training

Around 7 weeks old, we'll start introducing Blossom to some basic training concepts and routines.

Her first lessons will include:

  • Beginning to learn that potty time happens outside
  • Getting accustomed to a crate
  • Introduction to walking on a leash
  • Early recall practice
  • Beginning commands such as sit, come, and stay
  • Learning through praise and positive reinforcement

We think of these early lessons as planting seeds.

Blossom won't have everything mastered before she goes home, and that's completely normal for a young puppy. Instead, she'll have some familiarity with these concepts so her family can continue nurturing those skills through consistency, repetition, and patience.

The real training journey will continue as Blossom grows alongside her family.

Why Families Love Cavapoos

Blossom is a Cavapoo, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle.

The Cavalier has a long history as a beloved companion breed, while the Poodle is especially well known for its intelligence and trainability. Together, these breeds have helped make the Cavapoo a popular choice for families searching for a small companion dog.

Cavapoos are often known for being affectionate, intelligent, playful, and people-oriented, but there's plenty of individuality within the breed.

That's particularly important to remember while Blossom is young.

We aren't going to decide ahead of time whether she'll be adventurous, laid-back, silly, cuddly, or somewhere in between. As she grows and becomes more confident, she'll have plenty of opportunities to show us herself.

A Pretty Red Coat With a Little Something Extra

Blossom's red coat with white markings gives this little girl an especially charming appearance.

Her coat will continue to develop as she grows, and because Cavapoos combine Cavalier and Poodle genetics, coat texture and appearance can vary from one puppy to another.

Regular grooming will be an important part of caring for Blossom throughout her life. Brushing, bathing, nail trims, and professional grooming as needed will help keep her coat well maintained.

We can even begin laying a foundation for that now through something as simple as gentle handling.

Getting Blossom accustomed to having her paws, ears, face, and body touched gives her early experience with some of the handling she'll encounter during grooming and routine care later in life.

Blossom's Parents, Tulip & Yogi Bear

Blossom is the daughter of Tulip and Yogi Bear. At Blessed Little Pups, our parent dogs undergo genetic and OFA health testing. Health testing provides us with important information that helps us make thoughtful, informed decisions when planning our breeding program.

That planning happens before a litter arrives, but our work certainly doesn't stop there.

Once our puppies are born, we focus on their individual needs and development. Blossom will receive daily interaction, gentle handling, early socialization, age-appropriate experiences, and attentive care throughout the weeks she spends with us.

Blossom's Going-Home Goodies

Eventually, the little world Blossom knows here will be replaced by a brand-new home, new routines, and new people to love.

When that day arrives, she'll bring a few familiar comforts and helpful essentials along with her.

Blossom will go home with:

  • Up-to-date vaccinations and complete health records
  • Health guarantee
  • Microchip identification
  • A blanket carrying familiar scents from her littermates
  • Starter PawTree premium puppy food
  • A favorite toy
  • A leash
  • Lifetime breeder support from Blessed Little Pups

We want the transition to be as smooth as possible for both Blossom and her family.

That's also why lifetime breeder support is an important part of what we provide. Bringing a puppy home is only the beginning, and we're happy to remain a resource as our puppies grow.

Watching Our Little Blossom Grow

Her name couldn't be more fitting. Right now, Blossom is still a tiny puppy with so much growing ahead of her. Soon she'll be toddling around more confidently, investigating toys, interacting with her siblings, learning new routines, and beginning those first little training exercises.

And somewhere along the way, we'll start seeing Blossom's individual personality bloom.

We're excited to enjoy every stage as this beautiful Red Cavapoo puppy with white markings grows here at Blessed Little Pups and prepares for the much bigger adventure waiting for her.

For now, little Blossom has plenty of growing left to do. ❤️
