A Warm Welcome to Eliza

Introducing Eliza, a beautiful Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel girl born to Misty and Riley! Her rich red coloring gives her such a striking Cavalier look, and we're excited to have this little girl spending her first weeks growing up with us at Blessed Little Pups.

At this young age, Eliza still has so much changing and developing ahead of her. She's spending these earliest days close to her mom and littermates, getting lots of rest and receiving the gentle, hands-on care she needs.

Before long, those sleepy puppy days will give way to a much more curious little girl. We'll get to watch as she discovers toys, becomes steadier on her feet, starts exploring her surroundings, and eventually lets us see more of her individual personality.

That's one of the best parts of raising a litter. Even puppies born on the very same day to the very same parents become wonderfully unique little individuals.

Helping Eliza Discover Her World

There's a lot for a puppy to learn before she ever steps through the door of her future home.

Rather than introducing everything all at once, we allow those experiences to build naturally as Eliza reaches the appropriate developmental stages.

She'll gradually encounter different household sounds, surfaces beneath her paws, new activities, toys, people, and everyday routines. Along with these experiences, she'll receive daily interaction, gentle handling, early socialization, and individual attention.

We want Eliza to have opportunities to explore and learn while still enjoying what puppyhood is really supposed to be: plenty of playing, sleeping, eating, growing, and time with her littermates.

Every little experience becomes another piece of her early foundation.

Her First Steps Toward Training

As Eliza gets closer to 7 weeks old, her days will begin including a few simple lessons.

This is when we start introducing our puppies to some of the routines they'll encounter after leaving Blessed Little Pups.

Eliza will begin working on:

  • Going potty outside
  • Becoming familiar and comfortable with a crate
  • Early leash training
  • Beginning recall
  • Introduction to sit, come, and stay
  • Positive reinforcement and plenty of praise while learning

At this age, we're not looking for perfection. These are simply her first introductions to training.

Eliza's family will still have plenty of teaching ahead of them, but our hope is that these early experiences give them a nice place to begin.

A Gorgeous Ruby Cavalier

Eliza's Ruby coat gives her a very different appearance from some of her Cavalier siblings.

Ruby is one of the four recognized Cavalier King Charles Spaniel colors and is characterized by a beautiful, rich red coat. Without the contrasting white or black markings seen in some of the other Cavalier colors, that warm chestnut-red coloring gets to take center stage.

As Eliza matures, her coat will continue to develop along with the longer feathering associated with an adult Cavalier.

It's an elegant look for a breed that has spent generations doing what Cavaliers do best: being companions.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have a long history as companion dogs and are known for being people-oriented and enjoying close involvement in family life. They may look rather regal, but most Cavaliers are perfectly content when they simply get to be wherever their people are!

The Care Behind Eliza's Beginning

Beautiful puppies are wonderful, but what happens behind the scenes is just as important to us.

Eliza's parents, Misty and Riley, are genetically tested and OFA certified.

Health testing our parent dogs is an important part of our breeding program at Blessed Little Pups and helps us make thoughtful, informed decisions when planning our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel litters.

Once a litter arrives, our attention shifts to caring for each individual puppy and helping them through these early stages of development.

For Eliza, that means plenty of hands-on care while giving her the time and opportunities she needs to grow, learn, explore, and simply be a puppy.

A Few Things From Home

When Eliza eventually leaves the familiar sights, smells, and sounds of Blessed Little Pups, we want her to have a few things to take along for the journey.

She'll head home with:

  • Up-to-date vaccinations and complete health records
  • Health guarantee
  • Microchip identification
  • A blanket carrying familiar scents from her litter
  • Starter PawTree premium puppy food
  • A favorite toy
  • A leash
  • Lifetime breeder support from Blessed Little Pups

We hope those familiar items help make the transition into her new surroundings a little easier.

And while the blanket and puppy supplies will travel home with Eliza, our lifetime breeder support stays right here whenever her family needs us. We're always happy to be a resource as our puppies grow.

There's a Whole Story Ahead for Eliza

For now, Eliza is simply a little Ruby Cavalier girl at the beginning of her story.

Over the coming weeks, she'll experience so many puppy firsts. There will be new things to investigate, little lessons to learn, games with her siblings, plenty of naps, and probably a bit of puppy mischief somewhere along the way!

Most of all, we'll have the opportunity to discover who Eliza is.

We're looking forward to watching this beautiful Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy grow and develop here at Blessed Little Pups before it's time for her to begin the next part of her story with a family of her own. ❤️
